Senior Gas & LNG Trader | London

The Opportunity
I'm currently partnering with a select group of leading hedge funds, global energy trading houses, commodity merchants and utilities seeking to strengthen their Gas and LNG trading capabilities.
These firms are looking for commercially driven traders with a proven ability to identify market opportunities, manage risk effectively and deliver consistent, risk-adjusted returns across European and global gas markets.
Whether your expertise sits within proprietary trading, discretionary macro, relative value, spread trading, flow trading or physical optimisation, I would welcome a confidential discussion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a Gas and/or LNG trading book with clear ownership of risk and commercial performance.
- Generate alpha through fundamental, quantitative and event-driven trading strategies.
- Identify and execute trading opportunities across European and global Gas and LNG markets.
- Trade physical, financial and derivative products where applicable.
- Develop market views using macroeconomic analysis, supply and demand fundamentals, positioning and quantitative data.
- Optimise portfolios through disciplined risk management and capital allocation.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Risk, Research and Commercial teams to maximise trading performance.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of trading strategies, market coverage and franchise growth.

About You
We're interested in speaking with professionals who can demonstrate:
- A proven track record trading Natural Gas and/or LNG markets.
- Strong commercial judgement and disciplined risk management.
- Consistent P&L generation within defined risk limits.
- Deep understanding of European and global energy markets.
- The ability to thrive in fast-moving, high-performance trading environments.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making and communication skills.
