The role holder is responsible for delivering defined tasks, objectives, and project outcomes with minimal day-to-day supervision. They will work proactively, manage their own workload, make routine decisions, and contribute to the successful delivery of business and project goals. The role includes accountability for the performance of a small team and may involve managing small to medium-sized projects, supervising operational activities, or supporting commercial delivery through the management of costs and quantities

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver agreed objectives, goals, and outputs to a consistently high standard, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion of work.
  • Set clear priorities and contribute to the achievement of project and business objectives, taking account of wider organisational goals.
  • Analyse information and situations systematically, evaluating evidence and identifying practical solutions to support effective decision-making.
  • Communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally, presenting information in a structured and understandable manner to a range of stakeholders.
  • Support and adapt to change, taking a pragmatic approach and helping colleagues understand and embrace new ways of working.
  • Build positive working relationships and promote effective collaboration across teams, functions, and external stakeholders where required.
  • Contribute to a cohesive and supportive team environment, adapting working styles to meet the needs of different teams and situations.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities within their area of influence, providing direction, guidance, and support where appropriate.
  • Plan and coordinate resources effectively, interpreting project requirements and ensuring people, skills, and materials are deployed efficiently to deliver results.
  • Engage constructively in discussions and negotiations, considering different perspectives, presenting balanced recommendations, and supporting mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Take responsibility for personal development, actively identifying learning opportunities and applying experience and feedback to enhance knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Support the development and performance of team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a team environment contributing across a project, site or area
  • Good management skills, with the ability to motivate self and colleagues to perform
  • Good planning and time management skills; able to manage activities simultaneously within compromising on standards and quality
  • Ability to ensure standards and specifications are met
  • Ability to work with colleagues to contribute to project and operational performance
  • Sound knowledge of construction practises and standards
  • Specialist knowledge in chosen field
