Senior Geo:Environmental Consultant

Location: Manchester

Salary: GBP40,000 : GBP50,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Are you an experienced Senior Geo:Environmental Consultant looking to take the next step in your career? An exciting opportunity has become available to join a leading environmental and engineering consultancy in Manchester, delivering a wide range of contaminated land, geo:environmental, and brownfield redevelopment projects across the UK.

As a Senior Geo:Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in managing complex site investigations, overseeing contaminated land assessments, and providing technical guidance to clients and junior team members. Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and delivering geo:environmental and contaminated land projects from inception to completion
  • Planning, supervising, and coordinating intrusive site investigations
  • Undertaking contaminated land risk assessments and remediation strategies
  • Interpreting geological, geotechnical, and environmental data
  • Preparing Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigation Reports, and technical interpretative reports
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, regulators, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Mentoring and supporting junior consultants and engineers
  • Managing project budgets, programmes, and resource allocation
  • Ensuring compliance with current environmental legislation and health and safety standards
  • Supporting business development activities and client relationship management

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience working as a Senior Geo:Environmental Consultant or in a similar geo:environmental role
  • Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering Geology, Geo:Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of contaminated land legislation and UK regulatory frameworks
  • Experience managing site investigations and contaminated land risk assessments
  • Excellent report writing and technical interpretation skills
  • Strong project management and client:facing experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
