We are looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Environmental discipline.

This role offers you the exposure to a broad range of work with the opportunity to enhance and develop your technical expertise in geotechnical design.

Your Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Independently produce high-quality desk studies, ground investigation reports, and geotechnical design reports in accordance with Eurocode 7 (EC7) and CD 622 requirements.
  • Independently scope, specify, and supervise ground investigations in accordance with the ICE Specification for Ground Investigations (3rd Edition), undertaking the Investigation Supervisor role as required.
  • Deliver technically robust geotechnical designs for a wide range of projects and complexities, ensuring compliance with Eurocodes and industry best practice.
  • Mentor, support, and provide technical guidance to junior team members, contributing to their professional development.
  • Manage project delivery, monitor budgets and project expenditure, and ensure work is delivered on time and within financial targets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and communicating effectively with clients and other project stakeholders.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal Senior Geotechnical Engineer should have:

  • A relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology and Geotechnics, or Geology with a Master's degree in Geotechnics (BEng, MEng, or BSc/MSc).
  • Proven experience in geotechnical design, with the ability to develop and deliver a broad range of geotechnical solutions.
  • A strong understanding of the geotechnical characteristics and engineering implications of common UK geological conditions.
  • An appreciation of construction methodologies, buildability, and the practical considerations associated with geotechnical design during the construction phase.
  • A working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015), with a clear understanding of the responsibilities of a Designer.
  • A proactive approach to professional development, with a commitment to continuous learning and progression towards Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Geological Society of London.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the confidence to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to clients, colleagues, and project stakeholders.
