Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant
Rotherham
Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP55,000 (depending on experience)
An excellent opportunity has become available for a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Rotherham. This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects, leading contaminated land and ground investigation schemes from initial assessment through to project completion.
This position is ideal for an experienced consultant looking to take on greater responsibility, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in the continued growth of an established geoenvironmental team.
The Role
- Manage and deliver Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and Phase 2 Site Investigations.
- Design, supervise, and interpret ground investigations.
- Carry out contaminated land risk assessments and develop remediation strategies.
- Produce high-quality factual and interpretative geoenvironmental reports.
- Manage project programmes, budgets, and client relationships.
- Liaise with contractors, regulators, and other technical disciplines throughout project delivery.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and consultants.
- Assist with business development, proposals, and tender submissions.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards.

Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience within a geoenvironmental or contaminated land consultancy.
- Strong understanding of UK contaminated land legislation and current guidance.
- Experience managing ground investigations and supervising site works.
- Excellent report writing and project management skills.
- Chartered status or working towards Chartership is desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
