Senior Geotechnical / Geoenvironmental Engineer
SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL / GEOENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER – NORTH LONDON
THE ROLE
A leading engineering consultancy in the UK seeks a Senior Geotechnical / Geoenvironmental Engineer based in North London (Enfield, London).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a range of site investigations and contaminated land assessments.
- Supervise junior engineers in field and office environments.
- Specify, operate, and interpret geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigations.
- Travel to sites across London and the South East as required.

THE CANDIDATE
Ideal candidates should meet the following requirements:
Qualifications
- Degree in:
- Geotechnical engineering
- Environmental science, or a related discipline.
- Optional further qualification:
- An MSc in Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering may be preferred, alongside:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
- An MSc in Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering may be preferred, alongside:
- Certifications/affiliations (if applicable):
- Possession of environmental/geoscience professional membership and willingness to expand this.
Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Core expertise:
- Geotechnical site investigation deeply.
- Conducting contaminated land assessments.
- Specialisation in:
- Soil mechanics.
- Foundation design/advice.
- Risk evaluations for:
- Soil contaminants.
- Groundwater.
- Ground gases.
- Field experience:
- Hands-on experience with:
- Trial pits.
- Boreholes.
- Other fieldwork techniques (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience with:
- Leadership:
- Experience supervising teams, including line-managed staff, when possible.

Licensing & Travel Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential for site commutes).
