Senior Girlswear (Youth) Designer – Multi-Product Jersey Focus
Location: North London (Office Based)
Salary: up to £55,000 + Benefits
Our client is a highly successful fashion business with an impressive 40-year heritage, renowned for creating trend-led product for the UK and international markets. As the business continues to grow, they are looking to appoint a talented Senior Girlswear Designer to join their established design team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded designer with a strong fashion handwriting and a genuine passion for creating product for the younger customer. The role will focus on designing across several well-established brands, with a particular emphasis on jersey product, while also contributing across a broader multi-product category mix.
The Role
Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for creating commercially successful collections for girls aged 7–14 years, bringing fresh ideas, trend awareness and strong product development skills to the team.
Duties:
- Designing trend-led, commercial multi-product collections with a focus on jersey.
- Creating seasonal ranges across several established young fashion brands.
- Identifying and interpreting key fashion, colour and fabric trends for the target customer.
- Producing detailed CADs, technical packs and design presentations.
- Working closely with product development and sourcing teams throughout the development process.
- Presenting collections, concepts and seasonal direction to key internal stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
- Ensuring collections align with brand identity whilst driving newness and innovation.
- Conducting competitor and trend research to keep ranges ahead of the market.

Key Experience Needed
- Proven and recent experience in a Senior Fashion Designer or equivalent level role and previous girlswear design experience is advantageous but not essential, more importantly, you will have a strong, youthful handwriting and the ability to translate trends into commercially successful product for the girlswear market.
- Recent experience in a UK high street retail / brand or supplier.
- Strong multi-product womenswear or girlswear design experience, ideally with a significant jersey focus.
- A trend-driven eye with a contemporary, youthful aesthetic.
- Excellent CAD and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the UK high street and fashion market.
- Confident presenter with the personality and presence to showcase collections to senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, energetic and resilient approach with the ability to influence and inspire others.
- Commutable to London within an hour and eligible to work in the UK
