Salary: National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £53,800 to £70,000 and London £59,200 to £75,000 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

About the FCA and team
We regulate financial services firms in the UK, to keep financial markets fair, thriving and effective. By joining us, you’ll play a key part in protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping the future of UK finance services.
SPC oversees firms and individuals (supervision), creates and reviews the rules by which they operate (policy) and identifies and remedies ineffective competition in markets (competition). The International Division coordinates our strategy for international engagement, working collaboratively across the FCA to ensure the organization delivers on its international priorities.
Role responsibilities
- Helping shape and prioritise International Division’s strategic engagement and approach with authorities in the United States, Canada and the wider Americas
- Maintaining key relationships with counterparts in the USA and the Americas, government bodies and secondees
- Developing, delivering and supporting creative strategy and engagement plans on priority topics, working closely with colleagues across the FCA to ensure a coordinated and considered approach
- Advising and supporting FCA Executive Directors and the Senior Leadership Team in their engagements with key international partners, including in relation to overseas visits
- Analysing key policy and political developments across jurisdictions, shaping global policy and providing advice on the opportunities and challenges arising for the FCA
- Advise on risks and opportunities for the FCA
- Contribute to coordinated international strategy
- Operate effectively in a changing policy environment

Skills required
Minimum:
- Prior experience of the international financial regulatory agenda gained through practical experience / experience working on regional policy issues
- Prior experience of advising and working with internal and external stakeholders
- Prior analytical experience of evaluating complex information quickly, making sound judgements supported by evidence
Essential:
- Ability to identify, manage and support stakeholders, building rapport and constructive relationships
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues succinctly and compellingly, adapted to the audience
- Motivated approach and ability for problem-solving
- Inclusive and collaborative working method, with ability to draw on a range of knowledge across the wider organisation to deliver
- Well-developed self-management and organisational skills, delivering multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- Clear understanding of the FCA’s functions and objectives within the UK financial regulatory framework
