What You’ll Do
The Group UK Tax team delivers the full annual cycle of tax compliance and reporting for the Group’s head office, treasury and shared services entities in the UK. This includes UK corporation tax compliance, statutory tax accounting and disclosures for legal entities, and Group reporting submissions. The team also manages broader UK compliance obligations, including group relief processes, quarterly instalment payment arrangements, Controlled Foreign Company (‘CFC’) reporting, Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) returns, withholding taxes.
This role provides the opportunity to work in a significant and visible area of Group Tax, working at the intersection of tax, finance, and technology within a complex multinational environment.
To lead the delivery of:
- the Group’s UK corporation tax compliance, tax accounting, reporting and disclosure obligations, including statutory account tax notes, internal reporting submissions, corporation tax returns, group relief, group payment arrangement processes, quarterly instalment payments and related filings
- provide lead technical oversight, people leadership and stakeholder management and business partnering across Group Tax, Group Finance, overseas shared service centres, external advisers, auditors and HMRC, including direct engagement on corporation tax matters and Business Risk Review activity, to ensure accurate, timely and well-controlled tax reporting across multiple UK entities.
You will bring:
- 10+ years’ experience in UK tax compliance and reporting within or as a supplier to a large multinational, including experience with deferred tax asset recognition
- Proven experience leading large-scale processes and deliver high-quality outputs, delivering through a team, but providing hands-on support when needed
- Experience working with tax and/or financial reporting systems (e.g. AlphaTax, Longview, or similar), alongside strong Excel capability
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work with stakeholders across finance, tax, and external partners
- Experience in improving processes over time, including the use of data, automation, and emerging technologies such as AI

This role offers opportunities for development and progression within a forward-looking tax function, including exposure to senior stakeholders and involvement in complex, multinational tax matters.
- Lead the overall delivery and coordination of UK corporation tax compliance, tax accounting and reporting cycle, often through the shared service centre team. Ensuring accurate delivery of statutory account tax disclosures, internal reporting submissions, corporation tax returns, computations, group relief claims, group payment arrangement processes and quarterly instalment payments
- Be able to perform UK and UK linked-international tax technical research and advise the business to a high standard. Be able to identify tax risk in proposed projects
- Lead, coach and develop the UK direct tax team, setting priorities, reviewing outputs, supporting professional development and ensuring appropriate allocation of work across the team
- Support the Head of UK tax compliance with interactions and communication with HMRC, the wider business and the auditors
- Identify tax automation and process improvement initiatives that improve accuracy, efficiency, control and insight across tax accounting, reporting and compliance processes
- Own and improve key tax reporting and compliance controls, ensuring SOX requirements are embedded, evidenced, reviewed and continuously strengthened
Who You Are
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified, or equivalent
- Strong/ 10+ years’ experience of UK corporation tax compliance, tax accounting and reporting systems; experience of Alphatax CT and Longview preferred
- Strong UK corporation tax, tax accounting and financial reporting capability, with significant post-qualified experience in a large corporate or advisory environment
- Proven experience reviewing UK corporation tax returns, computations, group relief claims, group payment arrangements, quarterly instalment payments, tax accounting calculations and statutory account tax disclosures
- Strong technical judgement, with the ability to identify material tax risks, resolve complex issues, engage effectively with HMRC and escalate significant matters appropriately
- Effective people leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Group Finance, Tax, shared service centre, adviser, auditor and senior stakeholder groups
- Able to manage competing priorities across a complex organisation, maintaining quality, control and delivery standards under tight deadlines
