Senior Mechanical Product Engineer

Oxford | Hybrid Working | £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits + Share Options

Ready to take ownership of hardware that solves real-world problems?

Looking for a role where your ideas will shape the future of cutting-edge technology? Want to join a growing team where innovation happens quickly and your work genuinely matters?

If you're an experienced Mechanical Product Engineer looking for the opportunity to lead product development from concept through to production, this could be the perfect next step.

Our client is an ambitious and fast-growing technology business developing intelligent hardware and software solutions that transform how organisations capture, understand and interact with complex real-world environments. Backed by pioneering research and advanced engineering, they are building products that are pushing the boundaries of robotics, AI and intelligent sensing.

As they continue to grow, they're looking for a Senior Mechanical Product Engineer to take ownership of the mechanical development of their next generation of products while helping to scale manufacturing and mentor an expanding engineering team.

Why This Role is Great

This is far more than a traditional mechanical design role. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of new product development, leading mechanical design from initial concept through to production.
  • Design innovative hardware featuring complex mechanical assemblies and precision engineering.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineers to integrate electronics, sensors and intelligent technologies into robust products.
  • Influence how products are manufactured by helping scale production from prototype builds to higher-volume manufacturing.
  • Build and improve operational processes including Bill of Materials management, procurement and production workflows.
  • Lead product compliance activities for international markets including CE, UKCA and FCC certification.
  • Carry out mechanical validation, testing and thermal simulations to ensure products perform in demanding environments.
  • Mentor and support fellow engineers while helping shape the future direction of the engineering team.
  • Get hands-on building prototypes and supporting testing when required.
  • Play a key role in a business where your decisions have visible impact from day one.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
