Job Title: Sexual Health Assistant (Non-Sponsored Role)
About the Role
Supporting the delivery of the Integrated Sexual Health Service (ISHS) in the hub and spokes model, this role involves working closely with medical and nursing staff to assist in diagnostic processes, patient screening, and health education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating expertise in asymptomatic STI screening and providing basic patient advice to enhance understanding and decision-making.
- Reception and administrative support—booking both walk-in clinic appointments and centralised bookings, greeting patients, and signposting individuals to appropriate sexual health resources.
- Promoting STI prevention, treatment, and awareness of HIV through education, support, and discussions in confidential, friendly, and non-judgemental settings.
- Collaborating in both clinical and community partnership environments to improve sexual health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled medical/nursing staff with diagnostic processes and patient evaluation in the ISHS structure (hub-spoke framework).
- Conduct and facilitate STI screening for asymptomatic patients, offering preventive advice.
- Admin support:
- Cover patient reception duties.
- Manage walk-in and booked appointments via the central system.
- Signpost and direct prospective patients seeking sexual health services.
- Deliver basic support, health education, and information to patients about prevention, control, and treatment of STIs including HIV.
- Work in confidential, compassionate, and inclusive environments, engaging with patients in a judgement-free manner.
- Function as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing collaboration with healthcare partners in both clinical and outreach settings.
