Senior Healthcare Worker – Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) – Barnet Lane Clinic, Borehamwood

About the Role

Your Key Responsibilities

You’ll join an inclusive, supportive team dedicated to ** Mental Health** care and high-risk support. As a Senior Healthcare Worker, you’ll:

  • Organise, coordinate, and supervise shifts to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Ensure the wellbeing of all service users, responding to challenges as they arise.
  • Lead a team of support staff with patience, diplomacy, and strong leadership.
  • Administer medication in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate with families, carers, and healthcare professionals to maintain care continuity.
  • Complete daily reports, budgeting, financial audits, and Health & Safety checks.
  • Facilitate engaging activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Deal effectively with challenging behaviours in a clinical and calm manner.

Specialist Role Details

You’ll be part of a Specialist Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS), designed for adults with complex needs, demanding a long-term, tailored recovery model outside traditional care structures. Successful applicants must have:

  • A clinical background in:
    • Autism
    • Complex mental health challenges
    • Personality disorders
  • Experience with emergency and crisis interventions in mental health.

Hours & Location

  • Shift pattern: 12.5-hour days, 3–4 days per week (including nights and weekends).
  • Total hours: 37.5 hours per week.
  • Location: Barnet Lane, Elstree, Borehamwood, WD6 3QU

What You’ll Need

To excel in this role, you’ll require:

  • Experience as a Senior Healthcare Worker OR extensive mental health care experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Leadership skills with proven experience managing teams.
  • Empathy, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills to support service users effectively.
  • Resilience and vigilance – each day is work is filled with ups and downs.
  • Ability and willingness to assist with personal hygiene and routine care tasks as required.
  • First aid or crisis management training is desirable.
  • H&S compliance knowledge (Health and Safety checks required).
  • Local to Borehamwood or commutable.

Must:

  • Live in the UK and have the Right to Work (only full-time work visas accepted).
