Job Title: Senior Horticultural Manager – Manufacturing Operations

Location: Co Tyrone

Reports To: Operations Manager

Role Overview

As a Senior Horticultural Technician, you will embed technical agronomy directly into our high-throughput manufacturing and growing operations. This role bridges production efficiency with crop quality—ensuring that every batch of substrate, fertilizer blend, or finished plant stock meets strict nutritional and growth specifications. You will be the on-site authority for troubleshooting irrigation, feed programs, and environmental control systems to minimize waste.

Core Responsibilities

Production Trial Management

  • Design and execute in-house manufacturing trials on new product formulations (e.g., controlled-release coatings, liquid feed concentrates, substrate amendments) under commercial production conditions—not just research plots.

Quality Control & Process Data

  • Supervise daily monitoring protocols for substrate pH/EC, irrigation runoff, and tissue nutrient levels across all production zones.
  • Analyze production data (growth rates, uniformity scores, cull percentages) using statistical process control (SPC) methods to identify drift and drive continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
