Job Role
Senior HR Advisor
Band 6 (indicative) £39,959-48,177 per annum
37.5 hours per week
Fixed term contract/secondment initially until 31st March 2027
Responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in leading and developing our HR and Employee Relations service, driving innovation, continuous improvement, and best practice across a busy and highly rewarding team.
- Providing a high quality, comprehensive and effective generalist operational HR advice and support to Locala leaders and colleagues.
- Ensuring Locala policies and procedures are legally compliant and fit for purpose to enable managers to undertake workforce matters under their remit, whilst providing professional advice, support and guidance to managers and colleagues on employment and absence related issues, ensuring consistency and transparency.
- Leading on several projects at any one time and managing the successful implementation of service improvements within the HR Advisory team.
Can you demonstrate:
- Strong leadership skills to ensure that the HR Advisory Team are well supported and that matters are dealt with effectively and in a timely manner.
- A good understanding of Employment Law to support complex HR cases, providing guidance, support and coaching.
- Proven experience of working with Trade Unions to ensure positive communications and outcomes.
- The ability to review and implement Policies and Procedures.
- A detailed understanding of absence management and support.
- Stakeholder relationship management, listening to feedback and confirming detailed action plans.
- Attention to detail in providing detailed management reports and papers, analysing trends, issues and coming up with plans to resolve.
- That you can work well under pressure, deal with the day-to-day challenges along with planning for the future.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ensure deadlines are met.
- Excellent communication skills including tact, diplomacy and the ability to communicate sensitive issues with non-specialists.
- An exceptional track record of providing operational HR services, and project management support.

The post holder will be expected to be able to travel independently to be able to access different locations across Kirklees, Calderdale, Bradford and Greater Manchester.
