Senior HR Advisor
HR Advisor | Family Feel Business | Near Solihull (Hybrid) | up to £46K | 12 months FTC
About the Role
A well-established, family-run construction business based near Solihull is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and confident HR Advisor to join their close-knit team on a full-time basis, initially on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) with hybrid working.
The role requires a proven track record of providing full generalist HR support within a medium-sized business, ideally with prior experience in construction sector, alongside a strong Employee Relations (ER) background.
Responsibilities
The HR Advisor will be responsible for the following key areas:
- Provide end-to-end HR advisory support to managers across multiple projects, ensuring:
- Consistent application of HR policies, employment law, and best practice
- Lead on employee relations matters, including:
- Disciplinary procedures
- Grievance handling
- Absence management
- Performance improvement plans
- Capability cases
- Support project and site teams with:
- Workforce planning
- Onboarding processes
- TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings) procedures
- Mobilisations aligned with business needs
- Advise on HR aspects of:
- Change management initiatives
- Restructures and organisational development
- Partner with managers to:
- Promote employee engagement
- Support wellbeing initiatives
- Enhance inclusion and diversity
- Foster a positive site-based culture aligned with company values
- Maintain:
- Accurate HR records
- HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data
- Contribute to audits, reporting, and continuous improvement of HR processes

Requirements & Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following criteria:

- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) essential
- Strong background in Employee Relations casework, with experience handling:
- High-volume ER cases
- Complex cases progressived to tribunal and appeals
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- Experience adapting in a fast-growing team-based setting
- Readiness to collaborate within a close-knit team
