About the Role
This role sits within the OneER part of the team, alongside the wider HR Team. Your specialist area and focus will be all things Employee Relations, providing comprehensive advice and service across the varied departments of Addison Lee. You will also provide frequent coaching and guidance to the business’ managers and senior members of staff on our policies and processes.
Salary
£45,000 – £55,000 (dependent on experience)
Location
This role is a FTC (Fixed-Term Contract) for 3–6 months, based at our head office in Paddington with travel to our West Drayton and Liverpool sites once a month/as required (with hybrid working).
Reporting Lines
This role reports to the Senior HR Business Partner
Main Accountabilities

Manage a high volume of Employee Relations (ER) cases end-to-end, comprising:
- Disciplinary procedures
- Grievances
- Absence management
- Performance reviews
- Workplace investigations

Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on ER issues, ensuring consistency and alignment with company policy and employment law

Lead and support complex and sensitive ER cases, including investigations and hearings

Ensure all ER cases are handled in a fair, timely, and legally compliant manner

Coach and mentor a HR Advisor (Peterborough-based), developing their capability in:
- ER case management
- Stakeholder engagement

Coach and support line managers to build confidence and capability in handling people matters

Adopt a data-driven and analytic approach to ER case management, including reporting on key metrics

Maintain accurate documentation and ER case records, producing insightful reports where necessary

Identify trends in ER activity and propose recommendations to:
- Mitigate risk
- Improve internal practices

Collaborate with the wider HR teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality enterprise-wide HR service

Stay current and proactive in understanding new employment legislation

Seek out HR initiatives that can be effectively implemented at Addison Lee
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in a HR Advisor or similar role within a fast-paced environment
- Sustained Employee Relations (ER) expertise with breadth of experience in managing complex cases independently
- Strong grasp of UK employment law and adherence to HR best practice
- Background in coaching, mentoring, or developing junior HR colleagues
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with ability to engage stakeholders across hierarchy
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Professional, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach

Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in designing and delivering people management training workshops
