Senior HR Business Partner
We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to play a pivotal role in aligning people strategy with organisational priorities. Working as a trusted partner to senior leaders, you will translate business objectives into clear, pragmatic and forward-looking people plans that strengthen organisational capability, improve performance and support sustainable change.
This is a strategic, influential role that requires strong commercial awareness, sound judgement and the ability to balance long-term organisational goals with practical operational delivery. You will use insight, data and professional expertise to identify people priorities, shape workforce solutions and enable leaders to build engaged, resilient and effective teams.

Your responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders, providing expert HR advice, challenge and support on people matters that impact business performance and organisational effectiveness.
- Develop and deliver people plans that are aligned to business objectives, workforce priorities and the wider HR strategy.
- Use workforce data, insight and evidence to identify trends, diagnose organisational issues and inform decision-making.
- Lead and support organisational change programmes, including restructures, workforce redesign, culture change and transformation activity.
- Coach and influence leaders to build capability in people management, performance, employee engagement and inclusive leadership.
- Partner with Centres of Excellence and HR colleagues to deliver integrated solutions across talent, reward, learning and development, employee relations, recruitment and organisational development.
- Provide strategic oversight of complex employee relations matters, ensuring risk is managed appropriately and decisions are fair, consistent and legally compliant.
- Support workforce planning, succession planning and talent management activity to ensure the organisation has the capability and capacity required for the future.
- Champion an inclusive, values-led culture that enables colleagues to perform at their best and supports employee wellbeing, engagement and retention.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, frameworks and programmes that improve the employee experience and support organisational priorities.

Your profile
You will be a credible, proactive and solutions-focused HR professional with the confidence to operate at a strategic level while remaining close enough to the business to understand operational realities. You will be comfortable working with ambiguity, influencing senior stakeholders and translating complex people issues into clear, practical action.
- Significant generalist HR experience, including experience operating as an HR Business Partner or in a comparable senior HR advisory role.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence decision-making at a strategic level.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy and good practice, with experience managing complex and sensitive people matters.
- Experience of leading or supporting organisational change, workforce planning and performance improvement activity.
- Ability to interpret workforce data and translate insight into meaningful recommendations and action plans.
- Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across a range of stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and employee wellbeing.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- CIPD Level 7 qualification or Chartered Membership of the CIPD, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a complex, multi-site, unionised or regulated environment.
- Experience contributing to organisation-wide HR or transformation programmes.
- Experience of talent management, succession planning, leadership development or organisational design.
- Confidence using HR systems, reporting tools and people analytics to support strategic decision-making.
- Experience working collaboratively with specialist HR teams, shared services or external partners to deliver joined-up people solutions.
