About the Communications Business
By joining the Communications Business within Ultra I&C, your unique talents will be pivotal in shaping global communication for our dedicated warfighters. Your contributions will create cutting-edge solutions enabling precise, timely, and secure exchange of voice, video, and data communications for military applications—leveraging high-capacity tactical radio, advanced waveforms, and state-of-the-art satellite communications technology.

Location & Work Arrangement
This role can be based at our sites in Tring or Burridge—flexible hybrid working options available.
The Opportunity
As the Ultra Communications division enters a new phase of growth and transformation (becoming Marconi Technologies), we are seeking a strategic and influential Senior HR Business Partner to shape and deliver the people agenda across our UK operations.
As a key member of both the Global HR Team and UK Leadership Team, you will:
- Drive organisational performance
- Strengthen our team culture
- Enable our teams to thrive
While focused on the UK and reporting to the Vice President for the UK, this role integrates with the broader HR team across Canada, the USA, and the UK, ensuring alignment and supporting integration of these operations.
- Occasional travel between sites may be required.

About You
You are:

Skills, Experience, And Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Extensive experience operating at HR Business Partner (HRBP) level in:
- Complex, technical, or multi-site environments
- Ideally within defense, engineering, or manufacturing
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent; Chartered CIPD (MCIPD/Chartered MCIPD) is highly desirable
- Additional advantage if qualified in:
- Coaching (ILM, EMCC, ICF)
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law with:
- Proven experience in managing complex employee relations matters
- Advising senior leaders on HR strategy
- Ability to shape culture, lead change, and implement:
- Performance frameworks
- Organisational development initiatives
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to influence all levels of the organisation
- Experience developing:
- HR policies
- Recruitment and retention strategies
- Using HR data to inform decision-making

- Flexibility to work across UK sites and internationally
- Willingness for occasional travel
