Global Senior HR Business Partner (Maternity Cover) – Luxury Retail House

Mode Search are partnering with a globally recognised luxury retail house, looking for a global senior HR business partner to join their UK team as maternity cover.

This is a key appointment, supporting both head office functions and retail locations across London. The role is embedded in a well-established HR structure, playing a critical part in delivering people strategy, leading on complex employee relations, and supporting business performance across multiple areas.

The role is fully office-based (5 days per week) and is designed for a candidate who is highly autonomous, organised, and confident in a fast-paced, high-touch environment. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders while also supporting and guiding junior HR team members.

The Role

  • Act as a trusted HR Business Partner to head office and retail leadership teams across multiple locations
  • Lead on complex employee relations cases, providing expert guidance on conduct, performance, and organisational matters
  • Support and mentor junior HR team members, ensuring consistency and quality in HR delivery
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align people strategy with business objectives
  • Drive performance management, organisational effectiveness, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Ensure all HR practices are compliant with UK employment legislation and internal policies
  • Work collaboratively with the wider HR team, including Talent, Advisors, and Coordinators
  • Contribute to ongoing HR projects and initiatives across the UK business

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a HR Business Partner within a complex organisation
  • Strong employee relations expertise, with the ability to manage high-risk and sensitive cases independently
  • Experience supporting both Head Office (corporate) and retail environments (preferred)
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Highly organised, proactive, and capable of operating autonomously
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior HR team members
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice

Preferred:

  • Experience within the luxury or premium sector
