Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Fixed-Term (12-Month Contract) – Regional HR Team
About the Role
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity to support Amazon’s mission: "To be the place where customers can find, discover, and buy anything online." Your work will help develop, engage, and retain exceptional teams across delivery stations in the South of the UK.
Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, you will act as a strategic business partner, providing pragmatic, commercial, and employee-focused HR advice and support to:
- Operations teams (site managers, area managers, and support functions)
- Senior managers in the region
You will leverage your skills in communication, coaching, and influencing to:
- Drive employee engagement
- Manage change initiatives
- Retain high-performing teams that ensure exceptional service to Amazon’s customers
Key Responsibilities
General HR Business Partner Role
- Act as Employee Relations Subject Matter Expert and drive engagement programs based on Associate feedback to improve retention, reward, and workplace relations.
- Manage labor relations (if applicable) and resolve complex employee/employer disputes—collaborating with both internal and external parties.
- Integrate legislative shifts into HR policies and practices to ensure compliance.
- Develop people-centric plans that align HR strategy with business demands, leveraging your understanding of talent, operational goals, and succession needs.
- Partner with operations leadership to:
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of middle and senior management.
- Aligned with our Leadership Principles, guide Employee Development Plans and ensuring role-modeling appropriate leadership.
- Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning in close partnership with management.
- Drive data-informed improvements in processes, engagement, and policy alignment using people analytics.

Core HRBP Functions
1. Employee Engagement & Organisational Health
- Implement projects that address workplace environment, retention gaps, or engagement issues.
- Conduct diagnostics and trend analysis to identify ER challenges, formulate remedies, and communicate findings to leadership.
- As a senior leader, conduct investigations into workplace relations disputes alongside management.
- Support network compliance initiatives, providing expertise on employment law, regulations, and legislative changes.
2. Workforce Planning & Recruitment
- Lead hiring for operational/senior roles, partnering with management, including involvement in interview panels.
- Utilise influence to drive decisive hiring decisions and regarding conflicts.
- Ensure alignment between recruitment strategy, operational needs, and retention of top talent.
3. Organisational Development & Strategy Alignment
- Set key business priorities based on HR-specific metrics, including talent pool assessment, succession risks, and attrition trends.
- Inform organisational design by ensuring HR strategy supports long-term business goals.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience with HR theory, functions, staff development, and performance appraisal systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Deep knowledge of employment law (local regulations).
- Experience as a HR Generalist supporting hourly/staff employees.
- Familiarity with MS Office tools (Excel, Word) and HRIS systems.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following are highly regarded:
- Experience designing and administering HR compensation plans.
- Background in HR leadership with organisations supporting 250–500+ employees.
