Senior HSE Business Partner
Remote with Travel

At DS Smith Packaging, we’re looking for a dynamic Senior HSE Business Partner to play a pivotal role in elevating Health, Safety, Environment and Risk standards across our UK & Ireland operations.
This is a high-impact, highly visible role where you’ll partner with senior leaders, influence strategy, and embed HSER excellence across multiple manufacturing sites—all while championing continuous improvement and sustainability.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior HSE Business Partner, you will:
- Lead and influence a positive HSER culture across multiple UK & Ireland sites
- Partner with senior leaders to embed safety, risk and environmental excellence into daily operations
- Coach and challenge leaders and managers to take ownership of HSER performance
- Drive consistency and best practice across site-based HSER teams
- Monitor and improve performance through audits, analysis, and data-driven insights
- Lead incident investigations and ensure robust follow-up and learning
- Develop and implement effective policies, systems and training programmes
- Collaborate externally with regulators, industry bodies and partners
- Support key initiatives around sustainability, compliance and risk management

What We’re Looking For
You’re an experienced HSER professional who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoys influencing at all levels.
You’ll Bring
- Proven experience driving HSER performance across multi-site operations
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, risk and environmental compliance
- The confidence to engage, coach and challenge senior stakeholders
- A track record of delivering continuous improvement, audits and investigations
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
- A proactive, commercially aware mindset with a passion for safety and operational excellence
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6) essential
- Professional body membership preferred
- Environmental/sustainability qualifications highly beneficial
This role offers the chance to work closely with senior leaders and operational teams to improve how Health, Safety, Environment and Risk is managed across a complex, multi-site operation.
You’ll have the scope to influence standards, support cultural development, and contribute to making our workplaces safer and more sustainable.
