Senior HR Advisor
Manufacturing | Goldthorpe | £35,000–£40,000 | Full Time | Permanent
Ready to take ownership of HR and make a genuine impact?
If you're an experienced HR professional looking for greater responsibility, more autonomy and the opportunity to influence the direction of a business, this could be the next step in your career.
Our client is a well-established manufacturing SME with a long-standing reputation for quality and continuous improvement. Following significant investment in developing its HR function, they're now looking to appoint a Senior HR Advisor to build on the strong foundations already in place.
Reporting directly to the CEO and Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day HR function, becoming a trusted advisor to managers across the business. The outgoing HR Manager has established robust HR policies, processes and best practices, leaving an excellent platform for you to build upon. Rather than starting from scratch, you'll inherit an established function with several projects ready to take forward.
If you enjoy working autonomously, building trusted relationships and making a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
As Senior HR Advisor, you'll provide pragmatic, commercially focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle while ensuring HR continues to support the wider goals of the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
