About the Role

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will provide expert HR advice and support across a multi site retail environment. The role focuses on employee relations, employment law compliance, manager coaching, organisational change, and employee engagement. You will ensure people practices are fair, consistent, and aligned with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

HR Advisory & Employee Relations

  • Provide expert advice to managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, and performance matters.
  • Support organisational change, consultation processes, and restructuring activities.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health and external advisors, and support employment tribunal preparation and risk management.

Manager Support & Development

  • Coach and support managers on people management best practice.
  • Build management capability in employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Support initiatives that improve employee engagement, wellbeing, inclusion, and retention while promoting organisational values.
  • Contribute to HR projects, policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational Support

  • Maintain accurate HR records, case management documentation, and support HR reporting/workforce data analysis.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for complex HR queries.

What We Are Looking For

Experience

  • Proven experience in a Senior HR Advisor, HR Advisor, or similar role.

Knowledge

  • Strong employee relations experience and solid knowledge of employment legislation.

Capability

  • Proven ability to coach and advise managers, with excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience.
