Senior Hydrogeologist

Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Salary: GBP48,000 - GBP60,000

Ready to take technical leadership within a respected environmental consultancy while remaining anchored to Shrewsbury? This Senior Hydrogeologist opportunity offers influence, mentoring responsibility, and long-term progression.

A specialist contaminated land and hydrogeology team is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to support projects across water resources, land development, and landfill sectors. As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will lead projects from inception through to completion while strengthening client relationships and supporting team growth.

This Senior Hydrogeologist role combines hands-on hydrogeological assessment with groundwater modelling, risk evaluation, and strategic input. Flexible hybrid working is available alongside a strong Shrewsbury base.

  • Manage hydrogeology projects and client relationships
  • Develop conceptual site models and groundwater models
  • Interpret datasets and deliver robust technical advice
  • Prepare and review reports aligned with legislation
  • Mentor junior staff and support professional development

Candidate Requirements

  • Chartered status with a relevant professional body
  • Degree in Hydrogeology or related discipline
  • Strong field monitoring and sampling experience
  • Experience with analytical and numerical groundwater models
  • Confident stakeholder and project management skills
