Senior IAM Infrastructure Engineer
Senior IAM Engineer – Aerospace, Defence and Security
Based in Stevenage (approx. 4 days/week) – Sopra Steria
Sopra Steria’s Aerospace, Defence and Security sector is looking to recruit an experienced Senior IAM Engineer to drive the IAM strategy for a key account.
Critical Note: Due to client requirements, candidates must be British nationals eligible for SC clearance.
About the Role
This ** Senior IAM Engineer** role is ideal for someone passionate about shaping IAM strategy while working across critical high-profile projects within the aerospace industry.
With a combination of 80% hands-on engineering and 20% leadership, this position offers the chance to make a significant impact on national security clients and work on large-scale, European-wide digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the IAM Team with an engineering focus, blending technical depth and strategic oversight
- Act as the primary escalation point for the team’s technical challenges and stakeholder requests
- Manage a mix of general IAM ticket activities—ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while also assisting in project-based work
- Collaborate on high-profile, industry-first projects, including unique, large-scale implementations

Requirements
To excel in this role, you must have:
- A proven track record in IAM Engineering (Expression of Interest requested at the top!)
- Vast experience with Exchange 2010/2016 and related CU deployments
- Strong expertise in Group Policies (GPO) and their management
- working knowledge of Forefront Identity Management (FIM) and Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM)
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory at enterprise/multiforest scale
- Familiarity with Single Sign-On (SSO) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
- Exchange and AD monitoring capabilities (internals,aların trend IMSVA, spam & AV settings)
