Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an In-House Lawyer to join its General Counsel team on a permanent basis.
The Opportunity
The opportunity is with a highly regarded international law firm with a strong global presence, recognised for its collaborative culture, high-quality work and commitment to excellence.
The firm is looking to appoint an experienced In-House Lawyer to advise on a broad range of legal, regulatory, compliance and professional conduct matters. Working closely with the General Counsel and senior members of the in-house legal team, you will act as a trusted advisor to Partners and senior stakeholders, supporting strategic projects whilst providing pragmatic legal advice across the business.
This role would suit either a lawyer currently in private practice looking to transition into an in-house legal role within a leading law firm, or an experienced in-house legal or compliance professional seeking a broader advisory position.

Responsibilities
The successful In-House Lawyer will take ownership of a broad range of matters and responsibilities, including:
- Advising Partners and internal stakeholders on legal, regulatory and professional conduct issues
- Providing guidance on claims, complaints and potential circumstances
- Investigating conduct and compliance matters
- Designing, implementing and enhancing compliance systems and procedures
- Leading firm-wide and global risk management projects
- Advising on commercial contract risks and related legal issues
- Developing and implementing global risk management policies and delivering training in conjunction with Learning & Development

Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
- Ideally 7+ years' PQE, although applications from candidates with less post-qualification experience who can demonstrate the required skills and experience are welcomed
- Previous experience gained within an international law firm or comparable professional services environment, either in private practice or an in-house legal/compliance function
- Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: financial crime, employment law, commercial litigation, data and technology, or investigations
