Senior Information Security Analyst (SOC)

SO Security Operations (SOC Lead) – Multi-Million-Pound Engagement

About the Role

This fixed-term position is open across our UK Office and reports to the Director of Technical Services – SOC.

The Opportunity: You will assume a SOC Lead role from day one, shaping detection strategies, mentoring junior analysts, and contributing to a robust Security Operations Centre (SOC) maturity roadmap. With a clear Manager progression pathway, you will architect monitoring solutions, escalate complex incidents, and drive improvement in team capabilities through:

  • Hands-on incident response in a regulated environment
  • Strategic ownership over monitoring roadmaps and SIEM capabilities
  • Investment in automation, security detections, and monitoring processes
  • Becoming the leadership voice for Netcompany’s SOC capabilities

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring, Incidents & SOC Design

  • Design and implement SOC’s operating model, detection strategy, and incident runbooks from the ground up
  • Build and assess monitoring capabilities, ensuring alignment with client security strategy and Compliance (ISO 27001, NIST, UK NCSC)
  • Lead comprehensive incident response, acting as the technical authority during cybersecurity breaches or Breaches of Policy/ řízení úmer
  • Direct multi-team containment and eradication activities across networks, applications, and infrastructure
  • Champion Security Detection Engineering and threat response, liaising with product teams

Tooling, Process & Team Development

  • Recommend and implement SIEM/IaC/automation tooling (e.g. Splunk, AWS GuardDuty, Terraform) to streamline investigations
  • Mentor SOC Analysts, accelerating their learning and confidence in incident resolution
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, structuring a mature SOC capability with clear KPIs

Collaboration & Technical Expertise

  • Serve as the SOC representative to senior stakeholders, managing expectations and technical requirements
  • Contribute to company-wide threat modelling, red teaming, and detection improvement
  • Champions thought leadership and technical go-to-market plans

Requirements

Must-Haves
  • Proven T3/Senior SOC Analyst experience (+5 years) — designing adjustments to LOS
  • Experience maturing a SOC from early-stage or unaligned state; hands-on ownership of monitoring capabilities
  • Deep SIEM expertise (Fortinet, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel), including induced detection rule development
  • AWS Security & Security Intelligence experience (e.g. Firewall rules, GuardDuty, Macie)
  • Incident response leadership within regulated (e.g., Defence, Finance) / high-risk environment
  • Stakeholder management, balancing technical accuracy with business nuance
  • Understanding of IaC (Terraform/Python) for managing SOC infrastructure automation
  • Degree-equivalent experience or formal cyber certification
  • Senior security certification: (CISSP/CISM/GCIA/GCIH/AWS Security Speciality, CCP)
  • Security-Cleared or aspiration for SC clearance (Essential), including vetting eligibility
Nice-to-Haves
  • SC-cleared professional or relevant government consulting background
  • Formal mentoring/people-management experience
  • Advanced forensic data collection & evidence handling skills
  • Master’s-level education in Cyber Security or related disciplines
  • Multiple senior certifications (GCFA, GCFR) / NCSC/SEI
