Senior Information Security Specialist – Glasgow – up to £70K plus benefits (Hybrid working – 2 days a week in the Glasgow office)
This is an exciting and challenging permanent role with a leading global law firm in the UK. Reporting to the Cyber Defence/Security Operations Global Lead, this role will be accountable for the effective execution of the security operations capabilities in place to identify opportunities for improvement; capabilities include threat and vulnerability management, security monitoring, threat intelligence, incident and event management, and definition of effective security standards and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead incident response capabilities for cyber-attacks or security events.
- Oversee and run the vulnerability management programme.
- Support and deputise for the manager when absent.
- Proactively threat hunt for signs of compromise across the environment.
- Help define and implement improvements to the cyber security posture.
- Translate technical findings and risk into language suitable for C-suite level reporting.
- Work collaboratively with global teams and other IT departments, particularly engineering.

Key Requirements:
- Strong background in cyber security and security operations.
- Solid technical IT knowledge.
- Hands-on experience leading incident response and vulnerability management.
- Experience with enterprise-grade tooling such as CrowdStrike, Microsoft security stack, and ideally Rapid7 (or willingness to train on it).
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative team player who brings new ideas to the table and can adapt to a dynamic threat environment.

Education:
- One or more relevant security certifications, such as CISSP/SSCP, CCSP, Security+ and/or vendor-specific security certifications.
- Working knowledge of the Information Security Forum Standard of Good Practice, ISO/IEC 27001, Cyber Essentials, and the NIST Cyber Security Framework or comparable formal frameworks.
