Senior Information Technology Consultant

Computeam is a fast-growing education technology provider, delivering managed IT services to 500+ schools and multi-academy trusts across the UK. We’re now looking for a driven individual to support hundreds of schools across the UK.

About the Role

Role fundamentals – What you’ll do:

  • Monitor service board escalations and progress accordingly
  • Act as an escalation point for service requests received
  • Attend site visits when necessary to help resolve issues
  • Maintain clear communication with the team and clients
  • Assist account managers by responding to queries regarding sites
  • Take a lead on larger project work
  • Train other IT Consultants, where appropriate
  • Keep internal documentation up to date to assist team learning

Requirements (What you’ll need to succeed):

Experience & Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience in a relevant field
  • Experience of solution design in Microsoft and Google platforms (beneficial but not essential)
  • Certification: Relevant certification in Cisco and/or Microsoft
  • Hands-on working knowledge of:
    • Firewalls
    • SANs
    • Cisco/HP Aruba switches
  • Current network troubleshooting skills, including excellent ‘working knowledge’ of:
    • LAN & WAN technologies (IPv4, VPNs, VLANs, iSCSI, SNMP, etc.)
  • Windows Active Directory, including the Office 365 suite and Azure Active Directory
  • Experience with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V Clustering
  • Experience in recent Microsoft Server builds
  • System Centre Configuration Manager

Working hours & Patterns:

  • 40 hours per week (between 8am – 5.30pm)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Predominantly school site visits, some work from home, visits to the regional Head Office

Computeam Pay Scale:

  • £37,500 – £40,000 per annum (full-time)
  • Mileage expenses reimbursed (own car essential; full driving licence)
  • Laptop and phone provided
  • Work uniform (nero polo shirt & fleece)
