Senior Information Technology Consultant
Computeam is a fast-growing education technology provider, delivering managed IT services to 500+ schools and multi-academy trusts across the UK. We’re now looking for a driven individual to support hundreds of schools across the UK.
About the Role
Role fundamentals – What you’ll do:
- Monitor service board escalations and progress accordingly
- Act as an escalation point for service requests received
- Attend site visits when necessary to help resolve issues
- Maintain clear communication with the team and clients
- Assist account managers by responding to queries regarding sites
- Take a lead on larger project work
- Train other IT Consultants, where appropriate
- Keep internal documentation up to date to assist team learning
Requirements (What you’ll need to succeed):
Experience & Technical Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in a relevant field
- Experience of solution design in Microsoft and Google platforms (beneficial but not essential)
- Certification: Relevant certification in Cisco and/or Microsoft
- Hands-on working knowledge of:
- Firewalls
- SANs
- Cisco/HP Aruba switches
- Current network troubleshooting skills, including excellent ‘working knowledge’ of:
- LAN & WAN technologies (IPv4, VPNs, VLANs, iSCSI, SNMP, etc.)
- Windows Active Directory, including the Office 365 suite and Azure Active Directory
- Experience with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V Clustering
- Experience in recent Microsoft Server builds
- System Centre Configuration Manager

Working hours & Patterns:
- 40 hours per week (between 8am – 5.30pm)
- Monday to Friday
- Predominantly school site visits, some work from home, visits to the regional Head Office
Computeam Pay Scale:
- £37,500 – £40,000 per annum (full-time)
- Mileage expenses reimbursed (own car essential; full driving licence)
- Laptop and phone provided
- Work uniform (nero polo shirt & fleece)
