Senior Information Technology Engineer
Job Description: IT Systems Separation Specialist (UK - Leeds & Blackpool)
About the Role
This critical role requires a Technical Product Manager or System Delivery Specialist to lead the separation, adoption, and transition of IT systems across local and franchise levels. You will work within a separation framework, engage with multi-disciplinary teams (both in-house & external), and ensure a smooth transition for applications and systems—both onsite and globally.
Key Responsibilities

Systems & Architecture Understanding
- Analyze and understand the portfolios of IT systems used at local and franchise levels.
- Apply separation frameworks to strategize and execute the division of these systems.

Business Collaboration
- Engage with business functions to align separation plans with operational needs.
- Ensure robust, end-to-end transition strategies that meet business requirements.

Technical Mastery
- Gain deep knowledge of current system architecture, including security, access control and data flows.
- Support SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) and documentation management, ensuring clarity and continuity.

Decommissioning & Archiving
- Lead the end-to-end decommissioning process for systems slated for retirement.
- Align with technical quality teams to archive applications and environments, ensuring efficient disposal.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate system transitions across UK sites (Leeds & Blackpool).
- Travel requirements: Must be available for site visits between Leeds and Blackpool (travel expenses covered).
- On-call responsibilities: Support 2nd/3rd line technology teams during peak transition phases.
Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in:
- Engineering, Science, Mathematics
- Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields.
Experience & Required Skills

Professional Experience (7+ years)
- Deep expertise in Technology/Engineering fields (IT, manufacturing, labs, or quality systems preferred).

Technical & Methodological Competencies
- Proven knowledge of:
- IT Service Delivery (ITIL practices)
- Agile methodologies
- SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
- Hands-on experience in Technical Product Management or Technical Product Delivery.

- Strong understanding of business processes and digital product delivery, ensuring high quality.

Stakeholder & Delivery Skills
- Excellent interpersonal abilities, translating technical information into actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in:
- Agile delivery tools: JIRA, LeanKit, Confluence, Asset Management systems (etc.).
- ServiceNow applications.

Technologies (Preferred, but not mandatory)
- Experience with MS Azure, AWS, and Power Apps.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Labs/GxP systems and compliance frameworks.
Personal Attributes & Working Conditions
- Language: Must be proficient in English.
- Site Attendance: Primarily UK-based (Leeds/Blackpool).
- Remote Work: Potential for remote working post-transition period.
- Mindset: Highly self-motivated, proactive, and resilient.
