Senior IT Support Engineer – Contract
**Contract Role: **Senior IT Support Engineer
About Synchro & the Client
Synchro is hiring on behalf of a large and well-established organisation, offering an initial 6-month contract with a potential transition to permanent employment.
You will act as the go-to technical expert for complex IT issues, supporting and enhancing critical infrastructure management, ensuring systems remain secure, stable, and high-performing.
Role Overview
This contract role is ideal for a senior and experienced Engineer in requirement 2nd- AND 3rd-line IT support, covering:
- Hardware, software, and networking
- Leading root cause analysis
- Implementing permanent fixes in collaboration with support teams
- Coordination with the wider team for day-to-day helpdesk operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Administration:
- Managing servers, including virtual environments
- Administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Enterprise Software & Tools:
- Experience with Intune, Exchange, SCCM, and Microsoft 365 is essential
- Experience with Azure is advantageous
- Impact & Scalability:
- Designing and implementing solutions that optimise performance
- Ensuring end-to-end security adherence for critical infrastructure
- Toshift as a trusty technical consultant for the wider team
- Wider Team Support:
- Working closely with the helpdesk/frontline support teams in day-to-day alignment and escalations
Experience & Requirements
- Senior-level IT support expertise, with proven 2nd/3rd-line troubleshooting skills
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft tools (Intune, SCCM, Exchange, Office 365 mandatory) and preferably Azure
- Understanding of security and compliance practices within an enterprise IT environment
- System stability prioritisation skills to ensure seamless operations even under pressure

Location & Flexibility
- Primary Location: Halesowen, West Midlands (Hybrid Working Offered)
- Shape of Work Hours: Hybrid/or remote capability aligned to the organisation’s operational times
Compensation & Terms:
- Rate: £200–£250/day (Ex IR35, no liability)
- Contract Duration: Initial 6 months with potential for a permanent transition if performance aligns with client criteria and demand
