Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Salary/Package: Up to £55,000 + package

Location: Leeds or Doncaster (Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite)

Fruition are currently recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for an exciting permanent opportunity. This role requires a hands-on infrastructure professional with strong experience supporting enterprise environments, ensuring the resilience, availability and performance of core infrastructure, whilst playing a key role in infrastructure improvements, disaster recovery and operational projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain core infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualisation platforms and cloud services
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure incidents, acting as the technical escalation point for Service Desk and Desktop Support teams
  • Manage system backups, disaster recovery processes and regular recovery testing to ensure business resilience
  • Deliver infrastructure upgrades, operational improvements and technical changes in line with change management processes
  • Monitor the performance, availability and health of critical infrastructure, identifying opportunities for optimisation
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, support procedures and infrastructure designs
  • Support operational and project teams with infrastructure implementation and deployment activities
  • Ensure infrastructure is maintained to security best practice through patching, configuration management and compliance activities
  • Work closely with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain service levels and resolve technical issues

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience supporting enterprise infrastructure within a 3rd line or infrastructure engineering role
  • Strong experience with VMware, Windows Server and Hyper-V technologies
  • Experience administering enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam, Avamar or Zerto
  • Good knowledge of Dell server and storage platforms, SAN/NAS technologies and virtualised environments
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and Active Directory, including Group Policy
  • Solid networking knowledge across TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and enterprise networking technologies
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, security patching and automation using PowerShell
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage issues through to resolution
  • Relevant infrastructure certifications or equivalent commercial experience would be advantageous
