Senior Infrastructure Engineer | Swindon (Hybrid) | £50,000
Peaple Talent is partnering with a well-established British design and retail brand that has built its reputation on craftsmanship, quality, and innovation. As the business continues to invest in technology and digital transformation, they are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and evolving their cloud, infrastructure, network, and security landscape.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative technology team where you’ll act as the deputy to the Cloud & Infrastructure Manager, providing senior technical leadership, supporting strategic infrastructure initiatives, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of critical business systems.
We’re looking for an experienced infrastructure professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, mentoring colleagues, driving operational excellence, and supporting business-wide technology transformation.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar technical leadership role
- Strong experience across Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Azure
- Solid understanding of enterprise networking including firewalls, routing, switching, DNS, and SD-WAN technologies
- Experience supporting and maintaining cloud and on-premise infrastructure environments
- Strong knowledge of IT security principles, vulnerability management, patching, and incident response
- Experience with endpoint management technologies such as Microsoft Intune and Autopilot
- Ability to provide 3rd line technical support and act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues
- Experience contributing to business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and resilience strategies
- Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to mentor and support junior engineers while driving technical best practice across teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Exposure to MDR and security platforms such as CrowdStrike or Arctic Wolf
- Experience within retail, manufacturing, warehouse distribution, or digital marketing environments
- Experience delivering infrastructure transformation or cloud migration projects
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms
- Experience with capacity planning, lifecycle management, and infrastructure roadmaps
- Relevant certifications across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Networking, or Cyber Security disciplines
