Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Remote – Travel: 3–6 months/year (on-site at Bath Datacenter) Salary: £65k + 5% annual bonus

About the Role

My Product Path is leading an organisation through a major company-wide digital transformation, seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to spearhead the modernisation and stabilisation of their IT estate.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you’ll:

  • Shape the future infrastructure landscape
  • Balance operational excellence with project delivery
  • Drive scalable, secure and reliable solutions aligned with business goals
  • Leave a lasting impact on a genuine transformation journey

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain and optimise:
    • Server environments
    • Security systems
    • Monitoring
    • Backup processes
  • Act as third-line escalation point for critical issues
  • Ensure consistent achievement of SLAs/KPIs
  • Own documentation, monitoring and service continuity standards
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors

Change & Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend strategic infrastructure solutions
  • Lead projects including:
    • Major upgrades
    • Migrations
    • New system implementations
  • Deliver architectures that scale while maintaining security and reliability

Technical Leadership

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to the IT team
  • Inspire professionalism and innovation in all IT processes

Requirements

(Minimum 5+ years in infrastructure environments)

  • Troubleshooting & diagnostics – Ability to quickly identify and resolve complex issues under pressure
  • Migration & upgrade experience – Hands-on management of legacy-to-modern transitions
  • Documentation & communication – Clear articulation of findings and strategy to stakeholders
  • Problem-solver mindset – Persistent “can-do” attitude even in high-stakes environments
