Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, manage, and optimise VMware datacentre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions
- Implement, support, and manage network and security technologies
- Diagnose and resolve complex network and virtualisation issues
- Interact with vendors for support escalations
- Continuously monitor network and infrastructure performance
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all configurations and procedures

Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proficiency in managing and optimising VMware datacentre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions.
- Experience with managing and supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Extensive knowledge in configuring and managing firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Advanced understanding of networking, including:
- TCP/IP protocols
- Subnetting
- VLANs
- Dynamic routing protocols
- Port aggregation
- Load balancing
- VPNs and wireless technologies
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architectures
- Knowledge of:
- Cisco ACL, Firepower, ISE, Unified Computing Systems (UCS)
- Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Veeam and Zerto data resiliency platforms
- Understanding of ITIL practices
Desirable Certifications
- Cisco CCNA
- VMware VCP
- Cisco Unified Computing System (DCCUCS)
- Microsoft Certifications such as:
- Azure Network Engineer Associate
- Azure Administrator Associate
- Security Operations Analyst Associate
- Azure Security Engineer Associate
