Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Bridgwater, Somerset (Hybrid working) - Full-time
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, and support enterprise-grade infrastructure platforms across VMware virtualisation environments and hybrid cloud architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure. This role also supports Windows Server-based application and identity services, ensuring they are secure, highly available, and aligned with organisational standards while building strong relationships with internal and external customers.
This is a hybrid working role, which will see you work from home and travel to the Dunball office in Bridgwater from time to time.
What you’ll do:
- Act as go-to person across customer accounts, supporting both internal and external requirements
- Provide 3rd line technical expertise, resolving complex infrastructure and platform issues
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement to minimise service impact
- Design, build and support VMware and Azure hybrid infrastructure solutions
- Produce and peer review LLDs / low-level designs and support solution development
- Support pre-staging, testing, and deployment of infrastructure solutions
- Provide technical input into customer engagements, proposals and presentations

Who you are:
A hands-on and experienced Infrastructure Engineer / IT Engineer / ICT Engineer with strong expertise across virtualisation and hybrid Cloud technologies. You are a technical leader who thrives in complex environments, with the ability to mentor others, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and deliver reliable, secure and high-performing infrastructure solutions.
Key Requirements:
- Strong experience with VMware virtualisation platforms in enterprise environments
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure / MS Azure and hybrid cloud architectures
- Hands-on expertise with Windows Server technologies (AD DS, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server)
- Experience with infrastructure automation using PowerShell, PowerCLI or similar
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multi-layered systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and support customers
- Relevant certifications (e.g. VMware VCP/VCAP, Microsoft Azure certifications) desirable
