Senior Infrastructure Engineer & Team Lead

Senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer

Sopra Steria’s Aerospace, Defence and Security sector is recruiting for an experienced Senior IAM Engineer to support the delivery of IAM strategy for our flagship Central Government account.

About the Role

This critical role plays a key part in both providing hands-on IAM ticketing support as well as leading and coordinating high-profile projects within the aerospace industry—that’s right, you’ll be helping to deliver national security with your technical expertise.

Based approximately 4 days per week on-site in one of our regional hubs (Newport, Portsmouth or Stevenage), this full-time, permanent position requires a British national eligible for SC Security Clearance.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the IAM engineering team (blending ~80% hands-on work with ~20% leadership)
  • Be the primary escalation point for team issues and incidents
  • Balance customer-facing ticketing with high-stakes project delivery
  • Drive unique, large-scale IAM innovations critical to UK aerospace and defence goals

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
