About The Role
Are you an experienced environmental consultant who enjoys leading projects, building strong client relationships and working alongside technical experts to deliver meaningful environmental outcomes? Are you looking for a role that offers genuine variety, where you'll work across a diverse portfolio of projects while developing expertise in one of the fastest-growing areas of environmental consultancy?
We're looking for a Senior INNS Consultant to join our Freshwater Ecosystems team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental consultant who thrives on delivering projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and helping clients solve complex environmental challenges.
Whilst experience of Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) is desirable, it isn't essential. We're keen to hear from experienced environmental consultants from a range of backgrounds, including freshwater ecology, terrestrial ecology, marine science, environmental management or other related disciplines. If you have a genuine interest in invasive species, strong consultancy experience and enjoy managing projects, we'll support you to develop your technical expertise in this specialist area.
Our INNS team has built an outstanding reputation for delivering innovative consultancy across freshwater, marine and terrestrial environments. Working alongside nationally recognised specialists, you'll contribute to projects that help clients tackle one of today's most significant environmental challenges. From risk assessments and management strategies to monitoring programmes and multidisciplinary environmental projects, you'll enjoy exceptional variety while working with subject matter experts who are leaders in their field.
This is a role where you'll combine consultancy, project delivery and collaboration. You'll work closely with clients, coordinate projects from inception through to completion and play a key role in ensuring work is delivered to the highest standards. As your knowledge and experience continue to grow, you'll become a trusted advisor to clients while contributing to the continued success of one of the UK's leading environmental consultancy teams.

You'll need to bring:
- A BSc or MSc in a relevant environmental, ecological or scientific discipline
- Experience working within environmental consultancy or a similar commercial environment
- Proven project management experience, with the ability to plan, prioritise and successfully deliver multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate people, resources and competing priorities to deliver successful outcomes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence building relationships with clients, colleagues and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience managing client expectations and delivering high-quality consultancy services
- Experience planning and coordinating fieldwork programmes
- Commercial awareness, including experience contributing to proposals or tenders
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a desire to continually develop your technical expertise
It's a bonus if you have:
- Experience working with Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS)
- Knowledge of INNS legislation, policy or biosecurity
- Experience undertaking ecological fieldwork
- Experience working across freshwater, marine or terrestrial environments
- A project management qualification
