Sky Data
You will be working within the Strategy, Transformation and Platform team within Sky Data. Our team is primarily responsible for providing the Delivery capability across our technology and tooling projects focused on delivering against Sky Data strategy. The team is growing, and this is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure and to work with brilliant people on really exciting projects.
The Rapid Insight function
The Rapid Insight function is a relatively new function within Sky's Data Science & Analytics team. This function was created to support our Trading and Commercial teams in delivering insight at pace for them. Over the last 18 months, we have worked hard to establish close relationships with our stakeholders, and they trust us to deliver analysis that will support their decision-making.
The Rapid Insight function consists of a Lead Insight Analyst and a Senior Insight analyst; you will be covering for our Senior Analyst who is currently on maternity leave.
What you'll do
We are looking for an individual who can plan and conduct robust analysis to answer our stakeholders' strategic questions.
With Support From The Lead, You Will
- Identify best data sources relevant to the analysis
- Liaise with data engineering teams to understand how those data sources are put together and raise any questions you may have on data inconsistencies
- Find best and most'scientific' approach to tackle the question
- Extract and transform data using Big Query (SQL)
- Conduct the analysis from beginning to end: analysis can be done in Python/Excel/other tools depending on the ask and what you are familiar with.
- Present findings in a clear and concise manner and support stakeholders with their recommendations based on findings

What you'll bring
- Experience in delivering key insights to support business and commercial decisions will be instrumental to your success in this role
- Clear communication skills
- Curiosity about data and how it can best be used
- Strong attention to detail to ensure validity of results
- Ability to stay cool when urgent requests are coming in and your scheduled asks need reprioritisation
Essential criteria:
- Strong experience in analytical roles minimum
- Proficiency in Excel is a must as this is the tool our stakeholders use
- Proficiency in SQL (BigQuery preferable)
Desirable skills and experience:
- Knowledge of Tableau beneficial as this is used by our stakeholders but only to understand how they are built. You won't have to build Tableau reports yourself.

How you'll work
We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 2 days in the office per week, usually on Wednesdays and Thursdays when we have our team meetings.

Your office base
You will be working from our Osterley campus when in the office.
