Senior Insight Analyst
About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Insight Analyst to join our Analytics & Insight team and drive high-quality, data-led decision-making across Moonpig UK. This is a hands-on role with greater ownership and independence, perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and turning data into clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
Working closely with Analytics Managers and business stakeholders, you’ll take responsibility for:
- Delivering robust analysis
- Proactively spotting opportunities
- Shaping decisions in a fast-paced e-commerce environment
You’ll act as a trusted analytical voice, ensuring insights are accurate, accessible, and influential, while also growing your technical, commercial, and stakeholder skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of analysis across trading, marketing, customer behaviour, and product performance.
- Translate data into clear findings and commercially relevant recommendations, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Independently scope and deliver ad-hoc analysis in response to business questions, with minimal oversight.
- Proactively identify trends and opportunities, adding value beyond reactive requests.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques to produce robust, well-structured outputs.
- Build strong working relationships with teams across Trading, Marketing, Product, and Finance.
- Present insights in clear, structured, and compelling ways, adapting communication to different stakeholders.
- Use data confidently to guide recommendations and shape stakeholder thinking and priorities.
- Manage multiple requests efficiently, proactively communicating timelines and priorities.
- Deliver swiftly while applying judgment to focus on the highest-impact work.
- Oversee analysis from problem definition through execution and follow-up.
- Break down ambiguous business problems into clear, independent analytical approaches.
- Ensure outputs are accurate, robust, and properly validated.
- Actively contribute to improving dashboards, queries, and analytical workflows for scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and BI teams to ensure data is fit for purpose.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to reporting and analytical processes.
- Support and guide junior analysts by sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Role model ownership, curiosity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Deepen understanding of business drivers and how analytics influence performance.
- Seek and apply feedback while contributing to team development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

About You
- Proven experience in an analytics, data, or similar role, with growing ownership and impact.
- Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Strong SQL skills and solid experience using Excel and BI tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Working knowledge of Python or R would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to clarify data and explain insights clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Growing commercial awareness and interest in business operations and decision-making.
- Confident organisation and time management skills with the expertise to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative approach and proven ability to cultivate positive working relationships.
- Reliable and accountable, with a track record of delivering accurate and timely work.
- Curious and proactive, with a willingness to keep learning and developing.
