Job Purpose
The Senior Installation Engineer is required to provide expertise to the ICT department who are working to develop tools and guidance to support installation engineering as a discipline. The SIE will be involved with the identification of SSI activities and engineering tools that support standardisation and development of the IE discipline. The SIE will be required to demonstrate thorough understanding of offshore diving and construction activities including SURF, structure installation, and commissioning.
Job Description
- Provide support, mentoring, and guidance to the installation engineering group within TechnipFMC as a recognized expert in the field including review of relevant documents and direct involvement in engineering of novel and/or high-risk operations.
- Provide technical expertise and support to projects and tenders. Serves as the technical specialist for the Company in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in the field of subsea installation / construction. Represents the organization and maintains liaison with individuals and related organizations.
- Ensure the best practice methods are used on projects. Keep abreast of new technologies and latest developments in the industry to use them for improving the execution of projects.
- Assist in the development of installation guidelines, check lists, and standard work instructions to leverage best practices.
- Participate in Research & Development programs, both internally and externally, in collaboration with partners.
- Build effective relationships with group subsidiaries, Clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Routinely interacts with engineers, clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.
- Promote quality and safety culture at work and with subcontractors / suppliers. Reinforce and strengthen the HSES and Quality culture at every opportunity in operations and projects and promote correct HSES behaviors through personal example.
- Attend relevant Technical Strategy Meetings, Constructability, HIRA, and Readiness Reviews providing an independent review of the engineering and methods proposed by the project and installations team.
- Provide Input/Review for SURF and SPS equipment design with an installation mindset.
- Identify new engineering tools in conjunction with ICT and industrialisation initiatives.

You are meant for this job if:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or equivalent
- Experience in offshore and subsea industry with a background and hands-on experience in SURF installation, vessel, and platform operation
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communications and implementation of standards and tooling
- Proven ability to ensure effective meetings with clearly understood actions and way forward
- Proven ability to plan and deliver projects adapting to changes throughout the process
- Proven ability to deliver work to a schedule
- Knowledge of standards and regulations such as API and DNVGL. Ability to research and apply the required codes to given areas as needed.
- Thorough knowledge of offshore installation methods including diving, ROV, offshore cranes, survey, and weather monitoring equipment.
- Ensure that all work is performed consistently in accordance with requirements / standards and per developed project procedures and to the highest technical standards.
- Capture and record (negative/positive) installation lessons learnt during and upon completion of the project (engineering phase, offshore operations, personnel and equipment logistic, planning, QHSE, contract and cost).

Additional Information
The role requires someone who wishes to utilize experience and knowledge gained on onshore/offshore projects to improve engineering within the company. There will be an opportunity to develop standards and guidelines which will be used by IE's globally, you will receive regular feedback and be able to implement training programs and roll out improvements. With this role, you will regularly communicate with all regions as we move to standardize our approach to Engineering.
You will be involved with product standardization and feedback from the offshore assets which will include development of tooling necessary to reduce time and improve safety.
This is predominantly an office-based position with infrequent travel to site or TFMC locations onshore as required.
