Job Purpose The Senior Installation Engineer has responsibility and accountability for the readiness, preparation, and execution of allocated installation engineering work packages, ensuring on-time delivery and to budget, while maintaining safety and quality standards. They shall be allocated within an execution stream to support installation engineering deliverables or initiatives for studies, tenders, and project execution, adhering to TechnipFMC standard procedures and processes.


Job Description

Role Overview

The Senior Installation Engineer (SIE) will be assigned to project execution or tender/study roles, supervising or delivering installation engineering deliverables to the Subsea Projects organization. The role reports primarily to the VSO/Non-VSO Execution Lead or Lead Installation Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Deliverables

  • Deliver technical robust installation engineering deliverables and documentation for the Operations Package, aligning with the expectations of the Lead Installation Engineer, POM, and PEM.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables are originated and checked for compliance with project, industry, and TechnipFMC Group standards, specifications, and codes.
  • Develop installation concepts, prepare procedures and other technical deliverables—either independently or by supervising installation engineers.

Tendering & FEED Activities

  • Support installation engineering tendering and FEED activities for I&C deliverables, including:
    • Review of Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents.
    • Preparation of tender deliverables (method statements, materials lists, tender data requirements (MDR), technical clarifications, and qualifications).
    • Supplier interfacing and client meetings.

Safety, Quality & Security

  • Promote TechnipFMC's safety, quality, and security culture across all tender and execution phases by embodying corporate HSES & Q behaviors and leading by example.

Schedule & Vessel Requirements

  • Review/input to offshore campaign schedules for planned operations within allocated scope, identifying appropriate vessel specifications and equipment.
  • Interpret and simplify the main contract to manage installation engineering queries and interface requests.

Engineering & Operational Reviews

  • Deliver engineering and operational reviews (Constructability, HIRA, and Readiness) for proposed engineering methodologies by the installation engineering team.

Technical Guidance & Equipment Oversight

  • Provide technical guidance for installation aids and ancillary designs to support installation operations.
  • Support Package Engineers and GSP to:
    • Identify and procure required installation equipment.
    • Review technical evaluations of bids for permanent and temporary installation equipment and aids.

On-site Supervision & Offshore Coordination

  • Provide installation engineering supervision and technical expertise for manufacturing, fabrication, SIT (Site Integration Testing), or shorebase work sites.
  • Coordinate project equipment (permanent or temporary) ensuring it is suitably checked, packed, and ready for transportation, tracking through systems such as eMAT.
  • Work offshore to ensure execution in accordance with installation procedures, including:
    • Preparing site/project documentation (e.g., project briefings, dive/task plans, MOCs (Management of Change), and Lift Plans).
    • Serving as the primary client interface offline.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the following:

  • Bachelor’s of Science (BSc) degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in offshore installation engineering.
  • Multidisciplinary project experience across subsea and offshore industries.
  • Strong technical foundation in:
    • Subsea Umbilical’s, Risers, and Flowlines (SURF) systems
    • Subsea Production Systems (SPS) processes
    • Vessel operations
  • Hands-on familiarity with TechnipFMC systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management projects).
