The Role & Responsibilities
Raytheon UK’s CMDC (Courseware and Media Development Capability) is recruiting Senior Instructional Designers to support military training development in our aged defence industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Storyline Development: Deliver engaging storylines aligned with internal Best Practice, Style Guide, and Process Manuals.
- Efficient Workflows: Create courses incorporating asset management and effective project timelines.
- Compliance: Uphold Raytheon’s and Customer’s policies, standards, and environmental, health, and safety measures.
- Team Collaboration: Support interactions across other areas as needed.
- Flexibility & Travel: Occasional travel within the UK for customer requirements.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Management-defined roles to fulfil CMDC’s objectives.
Required Experience
- Articulate Storyline Mastery: Expertise in designing, developing, and implementing learner-focused training solutions.
- Instructional Design Skills: Knowledge of adult learning principles, SME collaboration, and quality training standards.
- Technical Comprehension: Ability to translate both technical and non-technical materials into visual stories & animations.
- Multitasking & Deadlines: Qualities to thrive in dynamic, project-heavy environments and use MS Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) efficiently.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication with partners to gather technical media specifications.
- Clearance Requirement: Must qualify for SC security clearance.

Desirable Skills
- LMS Experience: Experience with Moodle or other Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Defence Knowledge: Familiarisation with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
- Animation: Experience creating animated content with asset and workflow management.
