  • Assist with the design and delivery of other analysis and assessment courses, including workshops and overseas capacity-building training to friendly nations, as directed by DI Res Overseas Engagement, and in accordance with overseas customer requirements. International travel opportunities may be available.
  • In conjunction with DI (particularly the Head of Profession for Defence Intelligence Analysis (DCDI) and All-Source Capability Lead (ASCL), maintain a high level of skill in intelligence analysis and assist ASCL staff to research future requirements for intelligence analysis training across the defence and intelligence communities.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with other relevant organisations (particularly those of the UK and US intelligence communities) directly or through the offices of the PHIA in the Cabinet Office. In collaboration with the DI enterprise, particularly assist with identification, sharing, and exploitation of best practice within DI and the Single Service intelligence community.
  • Maintain close contacts with and maintain currency with DI analysts’ work practices.
  • Take the lead in the preparation of training spaces and materials in advance of courses.

DI aspires to be an exemplar equal opportunities employer, and create a workplace which values diversity and is free from any form of discrimination. This post is open to those seeking alternative work patterns, including job share.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team that designs, adapts, and delivers lectures and workshops on analytical techniques.
  • Deliver DI’s flagship intelligence assessment course.
  • Build relationships with a wide network to understand changes in future analytical methods and IT requirements, changes in teaching methods, and other courses available to staff.
  • Ensure your continued professional development in areas of specialist knowledge, including intelligence assessment and education.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
