Job Description

About the Role

As a Senior Interaction Designer, you will design how users interact with digital services, defining flows, behaviours, and interface patterns that enable intuitive, accessible experiences.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will translate user needs and service requirements into clear interaction models, ensuring that services are usable, consistent, and aligned with modern design standards.

You will play a key role in bridging design and engineering, ensuring that interactions are not only well-designed but also technically feasible and implemented to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design detailed interaction patterns, user flows, and interface behaviours for complex digital services
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes to communicate interaction logic, validate design decisions, and support delivery
  • Define micro-interactions, system states, validation patterns, and edge cases to ensure robust user experiences
  • Apply and extend design systems, including GOV.UK Design System, contributing reusable components and patterns
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet accessibility and performance requirements
  • Ensure all designs meet WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and responsive design principles
  • Work closely with user researchers and UX designers to iterate interactions based on evidence and feedback
  • Contribute to end-to-end service design, ensuring interactions align across journeys and touchpoints
  • Maintain consistency across products through contribution to shared component libraries and design standards
  • Document interaction specifications clearly to support development and handover

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
