Job Opportunity: Senior Interior Designer

Currently, our London office is recruiting for a highly talented Senior Interior Designer with exceptional and proven experience working within the corporate interiors and workplace sectors. The successful candidate will have strong experience in a professional practice and should have worked within a similar scale organisation. You will need to demonstrate exceptional design and conceptual skills, strong presentation skills, have a track record in dealing with clients and be able to support design excellence through all stages of a project from inception through to completion.

Essential Requirements

Pre-Project Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of tender proposals.
  • Manage the preparation of tender presentation material.
  • Lead/assist with the presentation of proposals to client.

Project Responsibilities

  • Develop design proposals with the Project Lead and team members for presentation to the client. This will include concept ideas, development of layouts, finishes, materials and furniture.
  • Collect client brief and prepare the project briefing documents.
  • Prepare design and production information with pre-agreed programme and cost parameters.
  • Specify products and materials. Investigate suitability for use, sustainability and maintenance procedures.
  • Attend client presentation meetings and other project meetings as appropriate.
  • Review construction work on site as required.
  • Assist to ensure smooth hand over of project to client.
  • Report project issues to Project Lead on a regular basis.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
  • Must have experience in a similar role, with ideally 10+ years in the industry.
  • Working knowledge of Building regulations, British Standards and other relevant statutory legislation.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Perkins&Will's work.
  • Revit is essential for all candidates, and there will be a Revit assessment conducted within the interview process. A knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is also required.
  • Excellent design and technical knowledge of and ability to undertake on-going research of furniture systems, products, finishes and materials.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate a team.
  • An understanding of clients’ requirements and experience of client liaison.
  • Experience of fast track projects from inception to completion.
  • Client management skills and exceptional presentation skills.
  • Understanding of financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget is desirable.
  • Successful candidate should be willing to act as design mentor to more junior members of staff within the team.

This role offers excellent opportunities for career development within a global design practice. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week), operating from 9:00am to 5:30pm, with a competitive salary. We have a hybrid working policy of at least 3 days in office per week.

Due to current government sponsorship criteria for interiors roles, candidates must be eligible to work in the UK for this opportunity.
