FRENCH SELECTION (FS)

Senior International Logistics & Freight Forwarding Specialist

Location: Remote, UK

Fully remote with occasional travel required

Salary: circa £45,000 per annum

Our client is a well-established international organisation providing specialist services to a global customer base.

Main Duties:

To coordinate and manage end-to-end international freight forwarding operations, ensuring efficient, compliant and cost-effective logistics solutions.

The Role:

  • Manage international shipments across air, sea, road and rail freight.
  • Oversee the full logistics process from planning through to delivery.
  • Coordinate cargo handling, packing, customs clearance and export documentation.
  • Select appropriate transport solutions based on shipment requirements.
  • Manage Incoterms, compliance requirements and international trade procedures.
  • Negotiate with freight forwarders, carriers, agents and logistics suppliers.
  • Monitor shipments and resolve delays, discrepancies or operational issues.
  • Identify process improvements and support operational efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to an experienced logistics team, with progression towards a supervisory role.

The Candidate:

  • Strong experience in international freight forwarding and logistics coordination.
  • Excellent knowledge of air, sea and road freight operations.
  • Good understanding of customs, Incoterms, VAT and export procedures.
  • Experience with specialist cargo handling and export packing.
  • Commercially aware with strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Senior-level experience with the ability to support and supervise an experienced logistics team.
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable.
  • Good geographical knowledge of international trade routes.
  • Proficient in logistics systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities under pressure.
