About The Role
The Senior International Tax Accountant is responsible for leading the organisation's international tax function across multiple jurisdictions. This role combines technical tax expertise with commercial insight, ensuring the business remains compliant while supporting sustainable global growth.
Working closely with the wider finance team and external advisors, you'll oversee international tax compliance, reporting, planning, and risk management. You'll play a key role in supporting international expansion, maintaining robust tax processes, and advising on the tax implications of commercial decisions.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical function within a growing international business and help shape its global tax strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead international tax compliance across all operating jurisdictions, ensuring accurate and timely filing of corporate tax returns, VAT/GST, sales taxes, and other statutory obligations.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies that optimise the group's global tax position while ensuring compliance with local legislation.
- Manage customs and duties compliance, including reporting requirements relating to international import and export activities.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations and statutory tax disclosures.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of transfer pricing policies and documentation.
- Provide tax advice to support international expansion, including market entry assessments, entity structuring, and ongoing compliance requirements.
- Oversee employment tax compliance, ensuring payroll taxes and social security obligations are accurately managed across relevant jurisdictions.
- Monitor international tax legislation and regulatory developments, assessing business impacts and advising stakeholders on emerging risks and opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and reporting across the finance function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
