Your Opportunity
As a Risk Associate, embedded within the investment process, you will:
- Partner with Portfolio Managers to enhance portfolio construction, risk positioning, and return outcomes
- Deliver timely, decision-relevant risk insights to inform active investment decisions
- Challenge assumptions while collaborating on:
- Factor exposures
- Active risk
- Performance attribution
- Market conditions
Responsibilities include:
- Risk analysis
- Generate and interpret analytics to translate into clear actionable insights
- Risk monitoring
- Proactively identify risk concentrations, unintended exposures, and vulnerabilities
- Scenario analysis
- Contribute to risk budgeting, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis
- Client engagement
- Response and clarity in addressing internal and client queries
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Build trusted relationships with Investment, Product, and Technology teams
- Technology support
- Work with Data and Technology teams to ensure data integrity
- Process improvement
- Drive automation and efficiency in risk analytics and reporting

Must Haves
Attitude and Mindset:
- Can-do attitude combined with intellectual curiosity
- Bias toward action and continuous learning
Consultative Work Approach:
- Focused on diagnosing risk drivers and co-developing solutions with Portfolio Managers
Technical Proficiency:
- Working knowledge of financial markets, equities, and drivers of investment returns
- Proven experience in investment or risk analysis (buy-side/sell-side)
- Understanding of:
- Portfolio construction (bottom-up, discretionary)
- Risk-return trade-offs
- Factor risk modelling (style, sector, macro)
- Active risk decomposition
- Scenario analysis & stress testing
- Performance attribution (Brinson & factor-based)
Technical Skills:
- Analysis using tools (FactSet, Barra, Aladdin)
- Quantitative mindset
- Excel, Snowflake & Python
- Strong communication and relational skills
- Integrity and autonomy
Motivations:
- Passion for equity markets and investment
- Drive to provide actionable risk intelligence
Nice to Haves
Experience:
- Buy-side experience
- Strong FactSet skills
Education/Qualifications:
- Working toward CFA or other financial qualifications
Subject-Matter Knowledge:
- Advanced risk modelling understanding
- Asset-class risk/return characteristics
