Senior iOS Developer (Hybrid, Manchester) – £400 per Day (Inside IR35)
The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Mobile Engineer (iOS) to design, build, and maintain high-quality, large-scale mobile applications used globally. This role is about more than feature delivery—it’s about making a tangible impact on products, teams, and millions of users where innovation aligns with exceptional engineering.
Compensation & Flexibility
✔ £400 per day (Inside IR35) ✔ 2 days a week in office (Manchester region) ✔ Initial 3-month contract, with potential extension
About the Role
You’ll collaborate in a cross-functional team, working alongside engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences and scalable solutions. Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering across disciplines to bridge gaps between technical and design visions
- Driving innovation through experimentation and thoughtful iteration
- Moving rapidly from insight → prototyping → delivery
- Championing engineering best practices in a remote-first, collaborative environment
This isn’t a cookie-cutter “tick boxes” role. Core Responsibilities
📌 Development & Delivery
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance iOS applications (Swift + SwiftUI)
- Collaborate directly with product and design teams to shape technical solutions
- Contribute to full-spectrum delivery, from dev to production, including bug triage, optimisation, and stability improvements
🧬 Technical Contribution
- Support architectural decisions, estimations, and roadmap planning
- Drive engineering standards (code reviews, documentation, CI/CD)
- Ensure robust testing culture (unit testing, UI testing, automation)
🚀 Cultural Impact
- Help reshape the team by leading, mentoring, and innovating
- Participate in technical design reviews, architecture trade-offs, and experiments
Requirements & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 10+ years of iOS development (Swift and SwiftUI)
- Proven experience with scalable architecture (clean architecture, MVVM, VIPER, etc.)
- Strong Swift concurrency & asynchronous programming expertise
- Hands-on experience with UI/unit testing, incluyendo:
- XCTest for unit & integration testing
- XCUITest or Snapshots for UI testing
- Heavy involvement in CI/CD optimization (Xcode Cloud, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, etc.)
- Deep understanding of platform capabilities (Core ML, والله Safari Web Extensions, App Sync)

What Else Matters
✔ Experience in a large-scale mobile app (100K+ MAUs) ✔ Habit of writing maintainable, reproducible tests, and clean documentation ✔ Passionate about refining mobile app experiences dynamically ✔ Confident communicating technical considerations to non-coding stakeholders
Note: Hybrid role allows 2-3 day flexibility from a Manchester-based office (primary contingent) while maintaining flexible options for distributed teamwork
